Advanced Disease Assessment
In addition to routine Optos retinal imaging, our practice is proud to now offer technology that allows for the early detection of ocular diseases that may impact patients of particularly high risk categories. If you have any of the following risk factors in your medical history and are age 18 or older, our doctors strongly recommend an Advanced Ocular Disease Assessment at your visit.

The cost for this assessment is $20.

What is included in an Ocular Disease Assessment?

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) - a noninvasive imaging technology used to obtain high resolution cross-sectional images of the retina. The layers within the retina can be differentiated and retinal thickness can be measured to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of retinal diseases and conditions.
and
Fundus Autofluorescence (FAF) - non-invasive imaging technology that has been developed over the past decade. The FAF images are obtained through the use of confocal laser scanning ophthalmoscopy (cSLO). It uses the fluorescent properties of lipofuscin to generate images that provide information beyond what is acquired by utilizing more conventional imaging methods of evaluating the retina.
